Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF)
What is OMF?
OMF (Formerly known as China Inland Mission) is a global fellowship of Christians with a heart for East Asia. We are passionate to demonstrate and proclaim the good news to East Asia’s billions, many of whom have never seen or heard it.
Their Mission
We share the good news of Jesus Christ in all its fullness with East Asia’s peoples to the glory of God.
Their Vision
Through God’s grace we aim to see an indigenous biblical church movement in each people group of East Asia, evangelising their own people and reaching out in mission to other peoples.
Their Values
As an evangelistic mission, in fellowship with local churches in many countries, we are called to be a worshipping, praying and caring fellowship committed to world-wide evangelism. We rejoice in our partnership with local churches on all continents, and pray that God will make us a humble, vigorous, attractive fellowship, bringing the good news especially to those who have never heard of Jesus Christ.

How can you help OMF?
Prayer
• For Alison and for good preparations for July VBS. Almost all staff are involved in various aspects of planning; finding times for planning meetings is a challenge! Thank Him for enthusiasm as we plan how best to share the best news with both the hungry and the curious. We anticipate inviting about 50 – 60 children and youth to come for July. Also, we thank Him for the official start of the translation project – speakers of four languages (one with two main dialects) are learning to understand the Word and speak it accurately and engagingly in their own heart language.
• For Alison who asks for perseverance, energy and patience with each other during the intense heat of this month. Poor sleep and the discomfort of constant heat makes most people short-tempered or prone to making mistakes, so we all need extra grace!
• For May 6th - 7th OMF Australia Home Staff Conference - pray for good connections with the Australia OMF team and inspiration in terms of mobilisation.
• For Pray for the many young adults who continue to journey with OMF and also do pray for the Qld State Conference August 2nd - the speakers and elective topics look very impressive!!!
• For East Asia The month of May begins and ends with Preaching Training seminars in two very different parts of the country. These annual seminars bring together preachers for an intense week of learning important principles for understanding the word and communicating it clearly to their local churches. In between these seminars, the preachers are regular members of local preaching "clubs" where they hone their skills, presenting their prepared messages to other members for feedback. We have found this the most effective way to encourage improved teaching in churches. It is now a spreading movement, with 46 preaching clubs and almost 300 preachers who meet monthly around the country. Thank Him for His work among so many leaders for the clear and relevant preaching of His word. Please ask for these seminars and our attempts to equip other trainers to help this expanding work.
• For our Serve Asia program as, we are preparing a team to serve in Cambodia at the end of the year.
• Please continue to pray for two finance managers for OMF Japan as well as a resident field medical advisor, along with several other roles that need to be filled temporarily within leadership and support ministries during 2026 while people take home assignments.
• For Thailand. Give thanks for good outreaches over Songran (Thai New Year) in the urban poor communities. Pray for the seeds that were sown to take root and for good follow up, may the people be available for us to follow up with. Pray for the team who works in the Urban poor communities: pray for more Thai workers and for God's leading and guidance in how best to minister in these communities.
• For the OMF Conference in August. "Hostility to the gospel is common today. Yet spiritual breakthroughs are often at the periphery, not the centre; and not by human plans, but by God's initiative through prayer. Join us and learn from Dr Patrick Fung how we might be fearless in proclaiming the gospel, willing to cross cultural barriers, and demonstrate the Lordship of Christ—in the power and by the leading of the Holy Spirit."
• For the Bible Seminaries in Thailand to be places where students don’t simply accumulate knowledge about God and His Word, but grow in their love for, and trust in the Lord. May they also gain the life and ministry skills they need to serve Him effectively.
• For the Philippines. OMF has worked in the Philippines since 1952. By God’s grace, their efforts have borne much fruit. Still, thousands of communities lack a church and dozens of peoples are little reached. The evangelical church has also grown to around 12% of the population, many are first-generation believers needing intentional discipleship. False teaching and quasi-Christian groups are proliferating. Please pray for the OMF missionaries as they are training, mentoring, coaching, and encouraging the local Christians. 90 million Filipinos still need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ in a meaningful way. Half of the 42,000 communities still lack a church. Millions of Filipinos are young Christians who need to be discipled.
• For Tiawan. Less than 1% of Taiwan’s working-class people know Jesus. Most working-class and marginalised people do not easily fit into existing churches. This is due to differences in background, mindset and education. Pray for OMF as they develop pioneering ministries and partner with local Christians to reach the working class. OMF are involved in church planting, marginalized people’s ministry, student work, and support & leadership training.
• For the Mekong Minorities. Mekong Minorities is burdened for the unreached peoples of China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Although there are six countries, there are many different people groups, with their own languages, cultures and religions. From groups with several hundred thousand in population to groups up to twenty million, they all share an urgent need: The Word in their language, the church in their culture and workers in places where they live. Please pray that we can reach the Mekong people through prayer and strategic ministry. We are committed to learning the language(s) and culture necessary to relate to a people group and to model reproducible and sustainable ministry methods.
• For Cambodia. The OMF mission is to glorify God by the urgent evangelization and discipleship of the Cambodian people. Today the church currently numbers around 250, 000 people. God is still at work. OMF is privileged to have played a part in bringing the good news of Jesus to Cambodia’s peoples for almost 50 years. Pray for Gods guidance and strength as only through the work of the Holy Spirit will they see lives changed.
• For Myanmar. Myanmar is a vibrant, multi-coloured mosaic of over 100 different people groups. There is much to pray for in this land, prayer makes a difference. Pray for a continuing vibrant mission movement in Myanmar, fuelled by followers of Jesus obeying the Great Commission. Pray for students in Myanmar—that they will get to know Jesus as the Way, the truth and the life. Ask God that He will provide more opportunities for student groups to meet together for Bible studies. Ask that the student leaders of these groups will be well-equipped to lead Bible studies and be a role model for other students.
• For Japan. Pray for churches to be planted in the 18 cities and 500+ towns in Japan that currently have no church, and for local Japanese pastors to lead them. Please pray for two finance managers for OMF Japan as well as a resident field medical advisor, along with several other roles that need to be filled temporarily within leadership and support ministries during 2026 while people take home assignments. Pray for good cooperation among Japanese churches so they can share resources; Provision of pastors and training of lay leaders and a good relationship between missionaries and the Japanese church as they seek to reach Japan for Jesus.
